The Vibrarians Click images for larger versions. INFO There is a buzz in Olympia lately, and it isn't just from the reverb. If you've happened to see The Vibrarians at one of their many recent shows, then you know what we are talking about. With a market as saturated with musicians as Olympia is, to hear everyone talking about just one band is truly remarkable. This trio puts on a groovy, psychedelic live performance, and has been pulling out all the stops. Each live show is something of a experience, with home made telephone mics and mechanic suits, a fog machine and video feedback with a projector, sometimes playing strange art-y distortion, or whatever else they have in store. The songs themselves capture a timeless quality, with straight forward strong beats, and infectious hooks. They pay frequent nods to influences such as The Kingsmen and The Wailers. Guitarist and frontwoman Sixx has been at times compared to Galaxie 500 for her shoegaze licks, but is also known to bring out garage rock hooks that cause entire rooms to dance, and even crowdsurf. Classic walking bass lines paired with tom driven drums produce catchy songs that will "hula hoop in your mind" for days after the show, maybe even months... "They aren't really tall, but the amps are huge! I was blown away...literally! The drummer is very intense, plays with a frenzied emotional passion." -John Courage RECENT NEWS The Vibrarians were featured on KPSU "What's This Called?" with Ricardo Wang!
